A Quick Blast To Bude

BMW S1000RR, in BudeI got an unexpected weekend to myself so I thought it would be rude not to get the bike out.

So I jumped into my Alpinestars, or gay power ranger suit as my mates calls it and headed towards Bude via the Bideford, Stibbs Cross & Holsworthy.

The roads were dry but cover in masses of tractor debris as the farmers rush around to get things done before winter sets in.

With a slight breeze in the air the leaves falling from the trees would swirl around in the air before settling in the road.
Olive Tree, BudeAfter a quick stop at my favourite cafe, The Olive Tree, on the canal in Bude for “second breakfast” and a few conversations with passers by who took interest in my bike, I headed home via the A39 Atlantic Highway.

The A39 is one of my favourite motorcycle roads in the South West and pretty much travels the length of the north Devon and north Cornish coast.

It’s a great adventure in itself but can also act as a jump off point to sleepy little fishing villages such as Port Isaac, Padstow and of course there’s the Timtagel, birthplace of the legendary King Author.

If you’re down this way, why not take a ride down the Atlantic Highway and enjoy some of the local towns and villages.
